On 11th November 2022, VET Institute of Arts and Science (Co-Education) College, Thindal, Erode, Department of Sociology (SALS) organized a Sociological exhibition. All the students of the Sociology department participated in the exhibition. The Socio-Cultural Art Gala was held to give awareness to the students of VET Institute of Arts and Science (Co-Education) College, Thindal, Erode regarding social problems such as Bonded labour, child abuse, substance abuse, domestic violence, sexual violence, cultural conservatism, and homophobia. The chief guest for this exhibition was Dr. R. Saravanan principal of VET Institute of Arts and Science (Co-Education) College, Thindal,Erode accompanied by Administration Office Mr. Lokesh Kumar and Dean Academics Dr. Nallasamy V P. The exhibition started at 10:30 am and was open to all the students of VET Institute of Arts and Science (Co-Education) College, Thindal, Erode. As the exhibition started, students of sociology presented their projects, models, documentary, and short films. Models of bonded labour, domestic violence, sexual violence, LGBTQ+, and substance abuse were done by students. The principal Dr. R. Saravanan, Administration Office Mr. Logesh Kumar and Dean Academics Dr.Nallasamy V P, Head of the sociology department Dr. Yasir Ashraf, Mr. Ramesh Babu (SALS Coordinator and assistant professor), Mr. Kasi Dharan (Assistant professor), Ms. Ayana Shajan (Assistant professor), Dr. Mrinalini (Assistant professor) and other faculty members of VET Institute of Arts and Science (Co-Education) college went around looking at different models designed by the students and assessed the descriptions given by the students. Apart from the model students also presented visuals like short films and documentaries to help everyone understand the problems in society. The exhibition was open to all students thus students from various departments came to the exhibition and went around looking at the models and visuals. The exhibition was a success because it created awareness among every student who came to the socio-cultural art gala. Students and staff felt that the exhibition was satisfactory and excellent according to their point of view. The exhibition ended with congratulating all the students who participated in and organized the exhibition by the staff of VET IAS.
